The College Fairy: A Play by Mr. Lawrence
FORMER STUDENT: Awe Man! I can't afford a new car, pay my rent, and buy some Takis. I guess I'll just settle for some Takis.
What ever shall I do? If only I had gone to college. Then I would land a higher paying job and buy that car, pay my rent...and eat some Takis!
COLLEGE FAIRY: Don't worry young person.
FORMER STUDENT: What? Who...who is that?
COLLEGE FAIRY: For it is I, the college fairy. And I have come to grant your request.
FORMER STUDENT: What? You mean...you will buy me a car?
COLLEGE FAIRY: No... but I will grant you the six steps of college entrance.
FORMER STUDENT: Really? Oh college fairy! Thank you. Thank you! For my lamentations have been heard, and my woeful petitions not uttered in vain!
COLLEGE FAIRY: Yes, that is correct. Just follow these six simple steps and all of your dreams shall come to pass.

The Six Simple Steps - To Going To Community College (And maybe more...)
1. Fill out your FAFSA.
Filling out this form will likely result in FREE money!!!
Yes. Free. The money I am talking about is not a loan... it is a grant.
You don't pay grants back.
"But Lawrence why would the government give me something for nothing???", said a little nerd.
Because the government is betting that if they pay you $5,600 bucks to go to school that you will be more likely to get a job, make more money, have insurance, and not cost them way more than 5600 bucks for your future aid, healthcare, etc.
This money is an investment in your future. Just like high school was an investment in your future.
To fill out this form you need the following:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your parents Social Security Number
- Your parents tax returns from last year

The College Fairy Conclusion - 10 Years Later
HUMAN RESOURCES PHONE CALL WOMAN: Well, apparently you really impressed the board and we'd love to offer you the position of V.P. of Operations.
FORMER STUDENT: That's great! I can't wait to get started. I can't believe it.
Me, Vice President of Operations at the Barcel Company, producer of my favorite spicy snack Takis.
Oh, college fairy if only I could hear your voice one last time, if only to thank you for your guidance.
COLLEGE FAIRY: I only showed you the door my nerdy friend.
FORMER STUDENT: College fairy! It's you. Thank you college fairy...for everything!
COLLEGE FAIRY: Do not thank me, for it may have been me who inspired you, but it was you who had the desire, you who asked for more, and you who entered the doorway which brought you to your one true love... Takis.
The college fairy then disappeared and began the search for yet another young person with dreams of a greater station in life.
The former high school student sat contently in a bean bag chair placed in the corner of his new office just beneath his wooden framed college diploma. He opened a bag of Takis and lived happily every after.
